Yes, it’s true. After about 3 weeks of jerking around – if you’ll excuse the terrible pun – I finally have all of the equipment and software I need to not only decode and capture from Blu-rays and DVDs, but also to cut and encode, making short clips available for consumption.

From now on, all new posts will come with the clips ready, but before I get there, I shall be attending to the backlog. This hopefully won’t take longer than a couple of days, but whatever the case, this post will be updated with the progress.

May 10: Streaming previews of the videos will now also be available. Because they’ll be hosted on YouTube, the naughty bits will be censored and the video quality will be slightly less than perfect, but they’ll be able to give you an idea of what you’re getting. The direct downloads of the clips will, of course, still be uncensored and high bitrate.

May 14: Anyone who’s tried to download the videos lately will have hit a brick wall. The company they’re hosted with is having a lot of trouble and they seem unable to fix it. Rest assured I am seeking an alternate host.

May 21: New file host! Video files will now be available again!

Two hosts down and a lot of trouble has been had. This third time’s gonna be good, though. The new host has amazing download speeds, no wait times, and even supports simultaneous downloads for free users. I’m hoping this will be the end of failed downloads and slow speeds.

June 4: I’ll be adding another file host. This new host runs a PPD program which will enable me to make a small pittance out of the downloads, hopefully enough to cover hosting, while still remaining free for users.

I will continue to host files with MediaFire, links to which will be marked as “(Mirror)”, for your convenience, but I encourage you guys to click the regular links.

July 9: In what I’m hoping will be the last update in this painful saga, I’ve switched to a simpler method of uploading to a much broader range of hosts, which hopefully will ensure constant availability of the video files in one form or another. Full details can be found here.
