A career spanning four decades, and she finally decides to do a decent nude scene now, just a few months shy of hitting 50. And goddamn, does she give it her all. Just about every scene she’s in, we either see Helen Hunt nude, or it is implied that she’s nude. There are five Helen Hunt nude scenes in The Sessions, four of the actual sessions in question and one that involves her getting bare-ass naked in front of an old hag as part of her conversion to Judaism (or something).

You might be wondering, what plot short of a porno would justify having Helen Hunt naked for most of it? Well, the story is actually pretty pornesque. Based on the life of Mark O’Brien, a writer who had an unfortunate run-in with polio as a kid and is mostly confined to an iron lung, the film follows our protagonist as he hires a sex surrogate to… well, the movie explains why it’s not prostitution, but I didn’t quite get that part. Anyway, so the majority of the movie is basically a chronicle of four sessions with the sex surrogate, played by Helen Hunt, as well as a part at the end that features a whole lot of Helen Hunt full frontal nudity that has nothing to do with the movie’s hero, but is there anyway.

Normally when an actress does a full frontal nude scene in a film, it’s only once, no matter how much nudity is in the movie, and only briefly. Not so with The Sessions. In this wonderful film, we see full frontal nudity from Helen Hunt in a whopping three of the five already-graphic nude scenes. In fact, we see Helen Hunt nude in the movie more than every other Hollywood actress in every other movie from the past year combined .

The ten million Helen Hunt sex scenes aren’t the only reason to get this movie, though. The writing is actually pretty sharp. The film had me interested far more than I imagined it would. And even though it’s listed as a drama, it actually got quite a lot of laughs out of me, and not just at the thought of a cripple trying to have sex with a granny. Honestly, this movie would be good even without all of the Helen Hunt nude scenes, and that’s something I rarely say about any film, which makes me wonder why they decided to even include so much gratuitous nudity. Ah well, our gain. Clips and caps are from the blu-ray in 1080p resolution, and available below in chronological order.
