“Finally, the gods remove cock from ass!” is just one of the many expressions that have entered my verbiage since watching Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, much like the many, many shots of Jaime Murray nude have entered my library of images that go through my head while I’m crying myself to sleep at night. Spartacus has an almost Shakespearean quality to it, albeit separated by a good many centuries. Apart from the… interesting adoption of language, it also takes all of the allusions present in the English playwright’s works, and turns them into full-blown graphic vulgarities, both in terms of the words that come out of the characters’ mouths and the endless nudity from just about every actor in it.
Indeed, we don’t only see Jaime Murray naked. Lucy Lawless also has multiple nude scenes, some of them together with Jaime Murray, as do Marisa Ramirez, Jessica Grace Smith, and an infinite list of female extras. A lot of the male characters have nude scenes too, if that’s what you’re into. The first Jaime Murray nude scene is right in the season debut. She and Lucy Lawless get high off of some vintage Roman-era opium and have a passionate night of lesbian sex. The latter’s husband obviously doesn’t seem to mind because in the very next episode, he joins in and makes it a threesome. We also get our first glimpse of full frontal nudity in this episode.
The next Jaime Murray sex scene – coming in with the opening of the third episode – is the most explicit. It doesn’t feature any actual penetration like you would expect with a typically uber-graphic sex scene, but we do get the longest, clearest, most open shots of Jaime Murray naked in all her glory, including a very satisfying number of close-ups on her naughty bits. It’s like the director had a quota or something, not that I’m complaining. This scene lasts over two minutes. The final Jaime Murray nude scene in Spartacus is shorter than the rest, giving us a brief look at a creeper opening her shirt and fondling one of her breasts.
Nudity aside, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena is most certainly worth the watch. It has that creepy uncle charm that I find ever so endearing. That’s not to say that the deluge of scenes featuring Jaime Murray nude and all the other actresses in various stages of undress don’t enhance it in the least, because they most certainly do. Probably not the type of show you’d watch with your mother, though. I’d also like to use this moment to plug the forum, on which the request for this nude scene was submitted. Those of you who visit the site in hourly intervals, presumably waiting for updates, might want to check there regularly too, as sometimes – as I did with the clips and caps of the Jaime Murray nude scenes – I do reverse the order and post there first.
